Scope and Content

W.P. Crozier to Frederick Voigt.

Location: [Manchester].

He agrees that The Times man has done very well in reporting on the Terror. Werth collaborated with the correspondents of The Times, Morning Post and Daily Herald in a message about the Terror. The message was very outspoken and they (Manchester Guardian) decided to publish it. Werth did not want it published unless the other papers did so, in case it was traced back to him. The other papers decided not to, so it did not appear.

Crozier thinks it is time to withdraw Werth for his own safety. He says he cannot send Voigt in his place, because he would be in as much if not more danger, due to his attacks on the Nazis in the previous year.
