Letter from Lady Edwina Mountbatten to Auchinleck, thanking him for his note and for the little book on the training of youth in the Indian Army; praising the system which is largely Auchinleck's own creation; expressing the hope that it will continue in the future, although she feels that it can never be the same without Auchinleck's incentive and leadership; and concluding by chiding him for addressing her so formally, when he is writing informally, declaring that she will set him a good example. Holograph.
