Scope and Content

Folder 1: DTC account book, 1833-1834; miscellaneous letters from subscribers; Robert Sievier letter (this may be associated with the Sievier letter in Dalton MS 352); DTC papers and reports; letter from Francis Chantrey, 12 February 1834, concerning commission of the Dalton bust.

Folder 2: reports and minutes of the DTC.

Folder 3: DTC papers, includes letter 4 February 1834 from Francis Chantrey, discussing his terms for the commission.

Folder 4 DTC papers includes a statement of purpose of the Testimonial, citing Dalton's achievements: "brought renown upon himself and by association the place of his labour". Also includes a removal certificate for the transfer of the bust from London to Manchester by Messrs. Pickford.

There is a close relationship in content with MS 314.
