From Aberystwyth. Bosanquet wanted to write during her stay here to thank Fletcher for all her kindness during their recent visit to Coalbrookdale. 'We enjoyed the contents of your basket and eat your roles with delight, and made a mince pudding of the last after we got to this place, and I have found much benefit by your eye water'. William [Fletcher's brother] seems much stouter and healthier for the change of air. They came here by the route which Fletcher suggested and it was indeed beautiful. They did not arrive here until Tuesday, delayed by a lack of horses at Welshpool because of the Assizes and the Sunday. They went to church in Welshpool.
Aberystwyth is very crowded and it was difficult to find lodgings. Bosanquet feels the benefit of bathing in the sea and they shall therefore remain here until September 4th. Because they will be leaving so late, they will have to return home by the shortest route possible, which will be across South Wales to Brecon and then on the ferry to Bristol from where they will be able to get home [to Leytonstone, Essex] in two days. It would give them great pleasure to call on Fletcher, but it would lengthen their journey and so they must forgo that pleasure. In any case [her daughter-in-law Letitia, wife of Samuel junior] is to return home next week and her time of confinement draws near, so it is best that they return home directly.
William and Mrs G. Franks send their love and ask to be remembered to Fletcher's dear companion [Mary] Tooth. It made them very happy to discover that Fletcher has a dear friend and companion with her. If at any time Fletcher finds writing difficult, Bosanquet asks that Tooth be her correspondent.
She wishes that Fletcher would not tire herself out so much by paying so much attention to those around her, but she knows that anything Bosanquet says on that subject is fruitless.
In a postscript, she adds that William was grateful for Fletcher's invitation to stay, which he must sadly decline. He has gone for a ride and so asked Bosanquet to reply on his behalf. She shall write again as soon as there is news of [Letitia's] giving birth
