EXAMINATION AND DEPOSITION: John Thomas of Pendref, Llanfairynghornwy, farmer, his wife Jennet Thomas, Richard Ellis of parish Amlwch, police constable, and Owen Jones of Gilfach, Llanfairynghornwy, farmer, in the case v. Ellin Owen for stealing nineteen sovereigns and one half sovereign, the property of J.T. Deponent J.T. states he placed in his drawer in his sleeping room the sovereigns later finding them missing. Deponent J.T. states the accused was left in the house for ten minutes or so and suspecting her of some wrong doing watched her. Later the sovereigns were found missing. Deponent R.E. states on searching the accused he found the sovereigns in her purse which she claimed had been given by her father.
