      18 x 12 cm, 1 vol., marbled board covers, half-bound in dark red morocco. Condition: the binding adhesive has disintegrated causing many leaves to become detached.

Scope and Content

Compiled in an unlined notebook. Entries record the weather, visits made and received, and Harriet Grey's daily activities. At the back of the volume are notes by Rev William Grey on the Defensio Fidei Nicænæ (1685) by Bishop [George] Bull (1634-1710).

With a label loosely inserted, annotated "Diary | of | Mrs Grey | Mother of | 9th Earl of | Stamford" in the hand of Penelope Countess of Stamford.
