Original artwork by Elinor Lyon to illustrate her book 'The House in Hiding' (Hodder & Stoughton, 1950). The file contains her original map, four colour plates and ten black and white silhouette decorations for the book. The file also contains two sheets of proofs for the silhouette decorations.
Most of the illustrations have been numbered with a page reference, although these page numbers appear to relate to the manuscript and not to the published book. In addition, the four colour plates have been separately numbered in sequence from 1 to 4. The illustrations are arranged here in the order in which they appear in the text, with the proof sheets appearing at the end of the sequence.
