Original artwork and proof illustrations by Elinor Lyon to illustrate her book 'Carver's Journey' (Hodder & Stoughton, 1962). The file contains original artwork for all of the chapter heading illustrations in the book, except chapter 2 ['Cat']; original artwork for all four of the silhouette illustrations in the book; a rough, unfinished version of the map which appears in the book, as well as the finished version; and a proof sheet which features proofs of all of the illustrations in the book.
The illustrations are arranged here in the order in which they appear in the text, with the proof sheet at the end. All page numbers given refer to the first edition of the book.
