Five letters to Nevil Sidgwick from Sir James Murray (lexicographer and primary editor of the Oxford English Dictionary from 1879 until 1915) about the definitions of chemical terms for inclusion in the Dictionary, dating from between 1902 and 1909. There are also slips containing definitions of chemical terms from previous publications, one of which includes a cutting from a publication dated 1873. This file includes a slip with a typed note reading, 'Sidgwick was consulted by Sir James Murray, the editor of the famous Dictionary'; this was probably created by Alton and Weiskittel while they were cataloguing the archive.
