Film entitled 'Reverend Leon Atkin'. Reverend Leon Atkin was a Methodist and Congregational minister, human rights activist, and politician. His church was St Paul's Congregational, St Helens Road, Swansea. The crypt of St Paul's became a refuge for homeless people, particularly during the bitter winter of 1946-47, and they were welcomed each Christmas. With his beret and clerical collar Leon Atkin was a well-known figure, admired by people with little time for churches, ministers or organised religion. Length: 00:05:27

The aircraft was one of the last Tornado GR 1s in operational service and was finished as she last flew in all over grey looking very similar to a current spec GR 4. Video in MP4 format entitled An interview with Frederick Jeacock, Flt Lt RAF/RCAF WW2. This video is an interview with Flt Lt 56148 Frederick Jeacock, born in Cranleigh, Surrey in 1919. He joined the Royal Air Force in March 1939 and carried out his basic training at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, Yorkshire. His initial intention was to be a flight engineer but became a balloon operator and assigned to a mobile Squadron. In June 1940 he was stationed in Swansea, when he was involved in putting up the balloons in the Swansea Bay area. The balloons were mechanised in 1943 and as a result he completed an Engineers Course at RAF St Athan. He was then posted to the Canadian 431 Squadron as a Flight Engineer and flew in a Lancaster Mk 10 (Canadian) and Halifax Mk 3 between July and September 1944 completing 30 Operations. After his 30 Operational flights he became a Flight Engineer Instructor. He was promoted to the rank of Flight Lieutenant and was Station Adjutant at RAF Binbrook and RAF Loughlin, Western-Super-Mare. In 1950 he was flying in Lincolns with 7 Squadron. Film entitled Isandlwana to Northern Ireland: 150 years of 23rd 24th 41st Foot, directed and filmed by Peter Hall, presented by Major John Thomas and directed and with re-enactment by Phil Barrow. The Welsh Infantry Soldier Wales has a long tradition of producing fierce warriors and Infantrymen. In 1689 the 23rd and 24th Regiments of Foot were raised, later to be named the Royal Welsh Fusilioers and the South Wales Borderers. They were joined in 1719 by the 41st (Welch) Regiment of Foot. The royal Regiment of Wales in 1969 brought together the 24th/41st and in 2005 it merged with 23rd Royal Welsh Fusiliers to become The royal Welsh, the current Welsh Infantry. Through the years these regiments have been awarded many hundreds of Battle Honours and 43 Victoria Crosses. This video using a Swansea living historian re enactor, tells the stories of the major campaigns and wars that Welsh Infantry Soldiers have taken part in over 150 years. Length 02:35:39.D/D Z 717/69

Biographical film entitled 'Sir Harry Secombe'. Sir Harry Donald Secombe, CBE was born in Swansea on the 8th September 1921 and was a comedian, actor, singer and television presenter. Sir Harry was a member of the British radio comedy programme The Goon Show playing many characters, but mostly, Neddie Seagoon. He was an accomplished tenor appearing in musicals and films - including the film Oliver, playing the part of Mr Bumble. In his later years he was a presenter of television shows incorporating hymns and other devotional songs. Born in the St Thomas area of Swansea, he was the third of four children of Nellie Jane Gladys, a shop manageress, and Frederick Ernest Secombe, who was a commercial traveller and office worker for a Swansea wholesale grocery business. She was a British fashion model and became a member of the Swedish royal family through her 1976 marriage to Prince Bertil, Duke of Halland. As such, she was a paternal aunt of King Carl sixteenth Gustaf of Sweden and a maternal aunt of Queen Margrethe the second of Denmark and Queen Anne-Marie of Greece. Lillian May Davies was the daughter of William John Davies, who had a market stall after working in a coal mine, and his wife Gladys Mary, née Curran, a shop assistant. Film entitled 'Reverend Leon Atkin'. Reverend Leon Atkin was a Methodist and Congregational minister, human rights activist, and politician. His church was St Paul's Congregational, St Helens Road, Swansea. The crypt of St Paul's became a refuge for homeless people, particularly during the bitter winter of 1946-47, and they were welcomed each Christmas.
