During the second world war, Platt was involved in the specialised surgery for orthopaedic injuries, and also in hospital planning for casualties from the armed forces and air-raids. This sub-series represents both aspects of Platt's work, but concentrates on treatment of peripheral nerve injuries. The subseries contains summaries of cases of gunshot wounds, patient case notes for peripheral nerve injuries, papers on paratroop injuries during the war, and a typescript about the treatment of air-raid casualties at MRI.
