Scope and Content

Assorted original artworks and portrait prints. Includes a silverpoint portrait of James Hamilton Hay by Clinton Balmer, and a caricature of Bottomley [by Paul Nash?], together with etchings including one of Bottomley by A. Hugh Fisher, and others of Emily Bottomley and Alfred Bottomley, as well as a framed drawing of Bottomley’s own stage design for Suilven and the Eagle (1935). Also one folio (with excised initial) of a modern copy of an illuminated manuscript, together with an example of calligraphy by Edward Johnston, and a print of a poem by Edward Thomas (The Sheiling).
