To Rowland L. Watson

Scope and Content

Rowland Watson compiled several collections of written recollections of Edward Thomas, but none ever took published form.

From R. George Thomas' 'Selected Letters' (1995):

'Between 1946 and 1948, Rowland Watson invited all Thomas' friends and relations to send him their memories of E.T. He hoped to round off his devoted work as secretary of the Edward Thomas Memorial committee 1935-37 by publishing them as a tribute to 'Thomas the man'. He failed to find a publisher and two typescript copies of the memoirs are in the ETC [Edward Thomas Collection at Cardiff University, see 424/6/4/2/1].
