Parts. Copy of the second violin part from two publications of music for two violins by Nicola Matteis, identified in Boyd, "Mackworth". "Altre arie" starts from folio 34r. No title in the manuscript. The British union-catalogue of early music printed before the year 1801, ed. Edith B. Schnapper (London: Butterworth Scientific Publications, 1957) printed copies are dated 1688; David Humphrey's notes that the first printed source with a second treble part was issued in 1703. Casing: leather with gold tooling. 4-stave MS paper. In a single hand. Only one piece has a title: number "96-97" of the first book, "I would if I should But I dare not" (f. 27r). The back endpaper is inscribed, "Handen Hardin" (plus other miscellaneous annotations in the same hand).
