Scope and Content

From Rev. John Fletcher in Nyon, Switzerland, to Rev. Vincent Perronet in Lausanne. Last wednesday Fletcher visited Geneva with his brother to collect his nephew. He saw Mr Prevost and was promised that Perronet would receive twenty-five Louis d'Or bringing the total to seventy-five, thereby 're- covering all your right upon him who is at Lima'. He hopes that Perronet will accept the money rather than drive anyone to bankruptcy. Perronet's 'call to England' is now clear, as is Fletcher's own. His friend Ireland wants Fletcher to join him in a visit to the south of France, and Perronet would be welcome to come along if his health can stand the journey. He has written to Ireland asking fora place in the chaise for Perronet, with Fletcher travelling by horse as long as Ireland does not drive too fast. They will go south via Lyons, and return by way of Paris. Letters received from his parish convince him that he should return, especially now that he will finish his book today. Perronet should inform him if he intends to travel to Geneva, and should come as soon as he can.
