From Rev. G. Downing in Lewisham, London, to Charles Wesley at the New Room in Bristol, describing his poor spiritual condition, which is such that he has considered leaving the ministry. Rev. Henry Venn has recently suffered a stroke, which has left him paralysed. If he were to be taken then it would be a sore loss to the church. Since Wesley's last letter he has not seen any of the Blackwell family. Sister Chambers is at Hackney with her health much improved. Downing's wife Kitty sends her regards.
