Lease (and counterpart), for 31 years, for £3 3s, 4s for every weigh (and so proportionably for lesser quantity than weigh) of all coal and culm that shall be wrought, dug, raised and landed from, in, upon or under premises herein mentioned during term hereby granted accompting 61 carrier’s bags or sacks to each weigh according to size of bag or sack now used for carrying of coal at or near river of Burry, rendering to (i), his heirs and assigns for and during such time as coalworks shall be in working under said premises one collier’s bag or sack of coal weekly, 17 Dec 1737; (i) Francis Davies of parish of Llanrhidian, yeoman, to (ii) Robert Popkins of town of Swansea, esquire and Franklin Mathews of same town, gentleman: Coal and coalworks, veins, seams and mines of coal and culm called Great Vein, otherwise called Hill Vein, already had, opened and found or hereafter to be had, opened or found in under and throughout parcel of lands of (i) called Tyrygraig and also use of foot of level in Waine Dole there formerly begun by said Robert Popkins in lifetime of William Davies, late deceased brother of (i) being within parish of Llanrhidian
