Scope and Content

Copies of rainfall statistics for the following areas: Mountain Ash (Darranlas Reservoir), 1899-1966; Treharris (Service Reservoir) 1908-1966; Merthyr Tydfil (Penybryn Filter Beds), 1908-1966. Also includes evidence submitted by the Director-General, Meterological Office on the rainfall in the neighbourhood of Aberfan preceding 21 Oct 1966 and an accompanying report entitled 'Memorandum on Rainfall Information'. Also contains four graphs showing daily rainfall statistics at Mountain Ash for the period Sep 1966-Jan 1967.

Appraisal Information

Duplicates destroyed, including a large number of duplicates of the 1944 statistics for each location.
