Administrative / Biographical History

The Finance Department was responsible for all the financial aspects of the National Coal Board's policy and for providing financial advice at all levels of management. It protected the assets of the board and secured the availability of cash to enable the operations of the board to be carried out. This subfonds is made up of material brought together from different accessions deposited by the British Coal Corporation. This subfonds has been brought together from the following accessions: DNCB/67 (no accession number identified) DNCB/77 (possibly transferred to Glamorgan Archives in 1997 by the British Coal Corporation. Accession entries for this period of transfer are very vague. 1997/133 states the transfer of 101 boxes of Administrative records and photographic collection, of which this series may have been a part.)
