LETTER: Headquarters, Western Command, Chester to the Lord Lieutenant, Pen-y-Parc, Beaumaris stating he has been in touch with the authorities of University College at Bangor and they are prepared to place their hostels at his disposal. They will need to use all the accommodation they can find to cater for the B. E. F troops until camps and requisitioned premises are ready for them. He regrets having been compelled to put so many visitors and holiday makers and their hosts to such inconvenience at short notice and hopes the necessity will soon pass.

COPY LETTER: Reply to the above. He deplores the lack of consideration shown to householders and trades people. He thinks that compensation should be paid to those who have suffered monetary loss through the evacuation of their customers for a considerable period prior to occupation of troops.
