Letter

Scope and Content

Letter from Thomas Milne to Mr [Isaac] Worthington. He is surprised at Astley's complaints. He has kept hounds upwards of thirty years with Lord Stamford's consent, and regularly supplies hunted hares to Lord Stamford. Astley has joined the hunt on occasions, and there is an agreement that when a hare is chased over to Dukinfield the hounds will be called off. The hounds have been on Astley's property only twice this season. Very few persons follow the hounds.
