This letter to his parents is brief. Arthur has his parents a gift, but does not mention what it is. Arthur expects to be travelling up to his battalion on the Front Line, next Monday. This will take a few days he says, but he loving writes, 'It will not be long before I am on my way to dear old Blighty and home sweet home'. Arthur asks for his parents not to write to him again until they receive news from him as he expects to be with his family shortly after the 26th October. Arthur closes with his love and adds a 'Stop Press' to tell them he has sent his Grandmother a 'little souvenir', he wants to catch the post.
