File containing complete draft with some manuscript annotations in Westall's hand. Revised draft of first chapter, entitled 'City of God', and manuscript notes in Westall's hand titled 'Extracts from the Book of Revelation'. The file also contains newspaper article 'Churches that seek a saviour' (Independent, 12 Mar 1988), possibly model for churchyard described in book. A typescript plot synopsis was added after Westall's death, with alternative titles given as 'The Guardian Angel' and 'City of God'. A letter from Westall to Laura Cecil, dated 05 Oct 1989, is also included in the file.
