Correspondence and papers relating to Bowden's article, "Too few academic eggs" published in Universities Quarterly, Jan 1960. Bowden argued that there was under-investment in the UK universities sector compared to other countries, and compared to other areas of UK public expenditure. Includes correspondence with Nevil Mott, who was generally sympathetic to Bowden, on this iussue. Other correspondents raised issues about Bowden's statistics, including university numbers in the USSR.
