Letter from Thomas Allsop to Robert Owen

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter, in which Allsop praises Owen for his "labours for the advancement of the Human Race" and his efforts to "ameliorate the condition of the World".

Talk follows of the war engulfing Europe. It is Allsop's belief that Owen should "wish for the Devouring Fire seeing that a new and wholly different foliage ever springs up from the ashes of a widespread and devouring flame", therefore providing opportunities for Owen's ideas to flourish.
