Counsel's Opinion: Right of the sheriff to dismiss Hugh Jones

COUNSELS OPINION: As to the right of the sheriff to dismiss Hugh Jones.

Under an Act 4 Geo. IV. it was recognised that part of a common gaol could be set aside as a house of correction and the opinion is that the sheriff has no control over the appointment or dismissal of the keeper of the house of correction.
