ORCC's concern for the physical, moral and social welfare of young people in rural areas was established at the start (1925) and reflected in its active participation in local and national youth organisations such as the Oxfordshire Juvenile (later Youth) Organisations Committee and the Standing Conference of National Voluntary Youth Organisations (SCNVYO) and support for projects such as the German Student Harvest Scheme and King George VI's Silver Jubilee Trust Appeal
