Scope and Content

From [Bristol] to S W in Chesterfield Street, London. Thank God that Sarah is alive. He could not answer Charles junior's letter before he saw [J W] yesterday at Mr Henderson's house, where he arrived soon after Charles and Sally returned with [Mrs] Lediard from Chew Stoke, Somerset.

Sarah's illness alarms them all. Charles Junior should not 'lose a post' [to keep them informed of her condition]. He will answer his son's letter next.

[J W] stays here for a fortnight, and Charles with him unless Sarah gets worse.
