Administrative / Biographical History

Wilkins teemed up with the Canadian Carl Ben Eielson to undertake flights across parts of the Arctic. From a base at Point Barrow Alaska they flew roughly 800km northwest landing on pack ice in 1926. In 1928 they flew across the Arctic Ocean to Spitsbergen.
