Readers' Reports

These reports were originally stapled to the accompanying correspondence between playwright and the Royal Court literary department and organised alphabetically by playwright surname. For reasons of confidentiality, the reports they have been physically separated from the correspondence and given their own record series.

These reports were originally arranged into various sequences, which were broadly chronological. Within each sequence they tend to be arranged in alphabetical order by playwright surname.

Some of these files contain confidential information and have been closed for 81 years under the Data Protection Act, the remaining files are closed for 71 years under the access agreement between the English Stage Company and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
