File contains papers relating to Lewis Clive, a member of Gray's Inn who was killed in August 1934 aged 27 whilst fighting as a volunteer in the British Battalion International Brigade in Spain. Clive was a close friend of Platts-Mills whom he met whilst studying law at Oxford. Papers include correspondence correspondence received by Platts-Mills whilst conducting research for his autobiography, and a notice of a memorial meeting at The Niblett Hall, Inner Temple, on 14 Dec 1934.
