Administrative / Biographical History
Produced by Ordnance Survey as part of their mapping programme, from 1887 to 1889, at a scale of 25" to the mile. The collection is made up of a mixture of two published editions, known as the First and Second Edition maps.

Custodial History
The maps were originally part of a larger collection, covering England and Wales, held by the National Monuments Record of England. The Welsh maps were transferred to the NMRW in 04/1992.
