Scope and Content

One of two volumes of account books, 1719-38, kept by Henry, sixth baron Herbert of Cherbury, recording receipts and payments, including personal, household, and estate expenses, rents received, wages paid, etc. The records continue until April 18, 1738, the day before his death, and include many entries relating to the state of his health, both bodily and mental, to his wishes concerning the disposal of his body, etc.
