Custodial History

Most of the material in CLA 2 was found either at Works Department at Clifton Hospital, or at the Estates Department at Groves Chapel (near York District Hospital) in 1990. A further batch of drawings (at present unlisted) was transferred from Groves Chapel in 1996.
Plans, drawings and papers relating to the Claypenny estate and buildings had been centralised after 1948 at the head hospital of York 'B' Group Hospital Management Committee - Clifton Hospital; at some point after 1974 some of the papers and plans had transferred to York Health District, later York Health Authority, Estates Department.
