This class contains manuscript drafts of some of Alison Uttley's books, which she herself sorted and gave to the library. Although few, they can be used in comparison with later drafts and the finished product to show her creative process. The most interesting items are the drafts of The Country Child and High Meadows, which were entirely handwritten, (unlike her later books), and which show her early methods of working.
