Scope and Content

DEPOSITION: Captain Thomas Bevis agent of H.H. Post Office Packets at Holyhead. That he asked John Hughes, accused of receiving copper and brass, what he had paid for the metal. J.H. said he paid 4d per pound for the brass and 5d per pound for the copper. The next day J.H. said he paid 6d per pound for the whole. Capt. T.B. states the copper is worth 10d per pound and the brass 8d per pound.
