Photograph album, chiefly containing portraits of Clare College alumni

Scope and Content

The majority of the photographs have been identified, apparently by the Rev Joseph Power (according to a note at the beginning of the album) and their names and some details are given; The album also contains photograph of W. L. Mollison and G. H. A. Wilson in Combination Room, nd (1926), engraving of Rev Henry Freeman (admitted 1772), nd (1793 - 1832), and photographs of Little Gidding church and Tom, College cat, both nd. Also loose: photograph of Combination Room after fire, nd (1890), 3 photographs of Clare (Suffolk), 1927, and copy photograph of Humphrey Owen Jones (admitted 1897, died 1912), with delivery note; also list of officers in Second Leinster Regiment, 1918 pasted in at rear.

Apparently the album was presented to the College by the Rev. Edwin Newsom Bloomfield.

Acquisition Information

Acc 1985/ 11: 1 - Presented to the College by the Rev. Edwin Newsom Bloomfield and subsequently transferred to the Archives by the Librarian in November 1985.
