Prepared for a lecture given by J M Moncur at the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society in May 1936. The house is span-roofed with a division and is made of teakwood. It is insect-proof and has gauze ventilation panels. The ventilation comprises two continuous roof sashes to suit the hot climate and electric fans are positioned in each gable. The blinds are carried on frames above the roof and project over the eaves and gables to provide extra protection
