Prepared for a lecture given by J M Moncur at the Royal Caledonian Horticultural Society in May 1936. This view shows how wide the span-roofed vinery has to be to secure the necessary length of rafter. Vines are grown up both sides of the house. In the distance, over the wall, can be seen the ridge of a span-roofed orangery
