Letter from Robert Owen to James Rigby

Scope and Content

Manuscript letter informing Rigby that the bearer [of the letter?] is the brother of one of their members. Owen says that his brother has been very hearty in our cause for many years. and is a hard working farmer. He says he should be employed by Mr Scott or Mr Crompton to see what he can do and to ascertain his value to the society. His wages will be decided when they meet next.

Owen signs the letter A Father's love to all his children and adds a postscript noting that it has just began raining heavily.
