A letter dated 20 September 1968 refers to the end of the ‘special relationship’ between Sadler’s Wells and the New Opera Company ‘in view of Sadler’s Wells Opera’s transfer to the London Coliseum and the financial situation prevailing at Sadler’s Wells Theatre’.
