Edmund Knecht,On some constituents of Manchester soot (Manchester 1905), reprinted from Memoirs and proceedings of the Manchester Literary and Philosophical Society Vol. 49 part III. Knecht was a chemist and his pamphlet reports his analysis of soot produced by Manchester's 'fat coal'.
