The return is divided into black cavalry, artillery and sepoys and includes a list of absent officers. Signed by Colonel Richard Smith and Lieutenant Colonel Joseph Peach. An endorsement states that the return was enclosed in a letter from Colonel Smith dated 25 March 1766.
