To Harry, sends some photos [not present], mentions his visit to see Indian troops at Sidi Omah [Libya]. Saw a lot of captured Mark IV German tanks and destroyed Italian field guns. Says that Auchinleck is effective in communicating with Indian troops, uses Urdu "and it goes with a great swing". Ridgway recounts that he was present when General Ritchie took over from General Cunningham [in November 1941, Ritchie took over as commander of the 8th Army].
