Scope and Content

This file contains the following three items of correspondence from the Austrian writer and dramatist Franz Theodor Csokor (FTC) to the Millers:

-typed letter from Pruszków, Poland, to Martin Miller (MM), concerning a proposal that FTC, then in exile in Poland, should to come to London to produce a play by the Polish dramatist, Tadeusz Rittner, at the Laterndl. FTC also asks about MM's further plans for the Laterndl, makes suggestions about how the theatre could be developed, and expresses his desire to keep Austrian culture alive (1 August 1939)

-handwritten letter from Glasgow to MM, concerning FTC's plans for his impending visit to London (17 June 1953)

-handwritten postcard to the Millers from Salzburg, Austria, where FTC was attending the annual Salzburg Festival (11 August 1956)
