This script was probably written for the BBC's German or Austrian Service. The subject of the script is the visit by Thomas Mann to the meeting of the P.E.N. Club deutscher Autoren im Auslande (or the PEN Centre for German Speaking Writers Abroad), which took place place on Saturday 14 May 1949. It is not known whether the script was actually used in a broadcast, and it is also not clear whether Martin Miller or Hannah Norbert-Miller were involved in the production of any such broadcast. The typescript has a handwritten annotation 'mit schönstem Dank, H.Wi', which may have been written by Heinrich Wiedemann, although it is not known what his relation to the script is.
Typescript of "Thomas Mann beim deutschen P.E.N. in London", author unknown
