Scope and Content

Gives an account of his membership of a deputation which met with the Prince Regent. Describes the parade through London, a lunch attended by the deputation and the meeting with the Prince Regent and the actions of some of those present. Complains of the reports of this visit printed in the newspapers. Discusses the work of Whewell, Herschell and Maule on 'fluents'. Gives news of acquaintances and notes he has just returned from the Royal Society where he has seen 'the pictures of Wallis, Newton Broadley, Halley, Brook Taylor and their signatures in their own immortal handwriting.'
