The Booth family held the manors of Broughton Astley and Normanton le Heath in Leicestershire. The inquisition post mortem of Sir William Booth (1540-79) found that he died seised of the manor of Normanton le Heath co. Leics: see EGR1/8/1/17 below. In 1587 Normanton was valued at £4 per annum: see EGR1/8/2/1b) below. In 1648/9 Sir George Booth (1566-1652) granted a rent charge of £4 to his grandson George Booth (1622-84) out of the township and parish of Normanton: see EGR1/8/3/13 below. The manor of Normanton was included in a settlement made by George Booth (1622-84) in 1680.
