Scope and Content

INFORMATION: John Williams of Tycroes in the parish of Trefdraeth at the hearing of Samuel Hughes accused of stealing one piece of deal timber the property of Owen Fuller Meyrick esquire from the parish of Llanfeirian on or about the 9th day instant. He saith that he is a carpenter and works at Bodorgan. There were a considerable number of planks sawn up and placed out to season. On the 9th he missed 4 deal planks [sizes given]. He went with John Williams the constable to the house of Samuel Hughes carpenter and joiner and found a piece of deal plank with the same marks and notches on [sizes given]. Samuel Hughes said he had purchased the timber at Wm. Williams shop. John Williams communicated the circumstances to Robert Evans the gamekeeper.
