Scope and Content

Copy of part of a letter [pencil note 'Miss Forsaith with letter of 30 Oct 1899].

Speaks of Mr Findlater of Rawal Pindi: at first they though he was going to be very useful to them but soon found that he only 'co-operates' by taking full control of matters himself. 'Taking all in all he is rather a disappointment'. Encloses the results of the efforts of their Ludhiana friends in the form of four documents which they helped them to draw up. It is amazing how little many missionaries know of the matter. Dr Brown writes: 'In Calcutta, since the Regulations were passed and order given to employ women physicians, the Government has offered sixteen scholarships - down as 'Government Scholarships' in the list. I have tried but cannot get hold of a copy of the agreement these girls have to sign.'
